My, this is awkward.
For as long as I could remember, I've really loved to write.
Did you ever have a friend that was so nerdy that they wrote essays for fun? Well, before adulting and even heavier academic course loads came along, that was little 3rd grade me. I fell in love with the art of telling a story, and maybe even moreso, having a platform to organize my thoughts. Long have I loved the craft of creating eloquence. I started my first webpage in junior high (Geocities and Angelfire anyone? Am I dating myself here? 😆) to have an outlet for all the words that always just seemed to flow through me.
Just yesterday, on a video conference with the creators of a new platform that I'm partnering with, I was asked, “Do you blog?” … … … :: 😬 :: Awkward. I've had this blog for a couple of years now, starting it as a continuation for the art that I've always loved, but admittedly have let it lapse. Looking at it now, I haven't published anything for over a year.
Well, this is me admitting to myself that I let myself get too busy to get away from what I love, my first and truest love.
What's my purpose with this post, you're likely wondering? Can you be okay with having read this far and the likelihood that I haven't got a purpose at all? (If you've read this far, given the short attention span of the newer ages🥴) [ I recently saw an Instagram reel by @Visshuddhadas that really hit home for me.. Peace over Purpose🙏🏽] But anyway, if you've read this far, firstly thank you, and secondly I do have a purpose. (Along with my peace♡) …man does that feel good to say. I do have a purpose. I DO have a purpose. I DO HAVE A PURPOSE.
For now it's simple. Today I dedicate myself to coming back to blogging, to remembering the importance of doing what I love, and maybe to remind, inspire and empower you to remember and more importantly do what you love, too.
Also, that platform I mentioned that's re-inspired me is RockPorch. In the coming days, months, I'll be sharing more and more of my outdoors content as well as my gear picks and recommendations on that app / site. I encourage you to check it out as it's an awesome way to find gear as recommended by people who already love and use it; it’s also quickly becoming an alternative to IG for the outdoors community (pretty great if all the algorithm updates are driving you batty 😵💫).
Also, also I'm dedicating myself to one new blog post (minimum) a month. 🤠 You can expect a nice mix of metaphysical ponderings, random thoughts, and also mostly the outdoors content you've come to know and love from Instagram as the joy and delight of the algorithm 🙄🤪 continue to inpsire me to branch out to other avenues. ( Just like I've already done with YouTube 🤠🤠🤠)
Stay tuned, because we're just getting started 😉 And always remember, #dowhatyoulove
